This was the first holiday since Layla has been home that we have had to divide our time among both families. Hell. I seriously don't know how everyone does it.
We had brunch/linner with my family at a restaurant in Wyandotte because according to my mom, "Who wants to do dishes on a holiday?" Certainly not me, so there you have it. Reservations it was. Afterward, we went to Andrew's family for dessert and cards. It was nice and laid back and I didn't have to do any cleaning up, which is an automatic win in my book.
Even though we were super busy with family stuff, I still managed to humiliate my kid and take some Easter pictures of her. haha She quite literally refused to cooperate without her choochie. Which is why I have no Easter pictures without it and was forced to color coordinate a damn pacifier. Seriously.

After sufficiently torturing my baby, I was able to make some Easter goodies and try my hand at ombré dyed eggs...they came out okay, but because we eat organic brown eggs around here, the color wasn't as vibrant as I hoped. Ah well. At least I've got my protein snacks made for the week!
I really wanted a special Easter basket for Layla, so I gave in and splurged on one from Pottery Barn that I've been drooling over for a long time now. I spent way too much money on it, but at least I can reuse it for the rest of her life. Which I will. Seriously. I will get my $60 out of this thing.
Inside, I stuffed it with copies of The Runaway Bunny, Guess How Much I Love You, and (my personal favorite) The Velveteen Rabbit, a wooden bunny teether, and some shoes.
Daddy also got a man basket filled with Summer Shandy (our favorite), beef jerky, gum, boxers, and some easter eggs filled with notes. All in all, Easter was a success! I can't wait for warm weather, bare feet (who are we kidding, I'm always barefoot), swimming, tans, cold drinks, and barbecues. I'm taking my marinades and shish-kebobing very seriously this year!
Hope you all had a wonderful holiday!
